Don Hoffman

Bass-Baritone

Bass-baritone Don Hoffman began his singing career with New Orleans Opera under the baton of Maestro Anton Coppola and has since performed more than 30 operatic roles. Praised for his “great gift for characterization” and “elegantly sung” performances, he has appeared as Colline in La Bohème, Escamillo in Carmen, Sparafucile in Rigoletto, Banco in Macbeth, Sulpice in La fille du régiment, Kecal in The Bartered Bride, and the title roles in Don Giovanni and The Marriage of Figaro.

He appears regularly with Bay Area companies including Pocket Opera, West Bay Opera, the Handel Opera Project, and West Edge Opera — most recently as part of West Edge’s 2025 summer festival. While living in Paris, he performed as a soloist with the Paris Choral Society at the Festival de Musique Sacrée in Rocamadour (a UNESCO World Heritage Site). Later, while based in Los Angeles, he joined the Angel City Chorale for a Carnegie Hall premiere of a new work by Grammy-winning composer Christopher Tin.

When not singing, Don works in product marketing in the cybersecurity industry and enjoys traveling the world — having visited 45 countries to date, including recent trips to Colombia, Wales, and French Polynesia.
